Intentions

What good do intentions do if you don't intend to make the changes?
To do the necessary work to be a better you?
We can always find something wrong with anything we do.
We can critique every aspect of our lives, finding the most minute and miniscule deficiencies to obsess over. But what will we do about it?
Most times, we sit on our hands, or swallow it.
We let it keep us up at night, and let it consume our minds.
We refuse to acknowledge it, like denial is suddenly the answer to all our problems.
We become blind to it because staring our demons in the eyes and facing them head on is too risky.
Then we wash our hands clean of it as if it never happened.
Like we can erase our insecurities away with soap and water.
Somehow turning a blind eye to our won shortcomings seems like the right path to take.
We become immune to our own sickness.
Breathing in toxins has become our favorite pastime.
When do we call out our own bullshit?
When it's too late?
And we're stuck to pick up the pieces of a shattered existence we no longer recognize.
So instead of letting it slide...
Ask the questions.
Dig deep into your soul to find the answers.
Do the work.
Detach from the things holding you back.
Fall in love with yourself over and over again.
Hold yourself close.
And never let go.
Learn to be intentional.
